Advertising can be done in several channels and for a number of reasons. The common denominator for all advertising is that they are lifting something, product, event or the company. It also aim at create traffic of interest which is aimed at increasing sales!
Advertising can be done in printed media, such as newspapers, advertising leaflets or event catalogs. Advertising can also be published in classic media such as radio and TV. The formats used (pictures, text, sound and movies) can also be used in different web channels. What is most appropriate is governed by the context.
It is seldom that one advertising channel is the answer to it all. On the contrary often advertising is one part of the total communication plan, with probably several ads, at several times in different channels.
